Pete Fromm’s fiction and nonfiction have won the Pacific Northwest Bookseller Association’s “Book of The Year” for an impressive four times. His writing includes, Indian Creek Chronicles, Dry Rain, As Cool As I Am, Night Swimming and Blood Knot. His movies include Dry Rain and As Cool As I Am.

Dee and Sue Baker of the Grizzly Claw Trading Company use their lovely store as a  venue for Open Book Club readings. The readings are free and open to the public.

The Seeley Creek  trail head is located a few minutes drive from the Lodges.

The starter’s gun for the 33rd annual Snow Joke race shoots off at 11:00 a.m.  Race day registration for the 13.1 mile race is 8:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The registration fee is$15.00 ($5.00 if under age 20). The Snow Joke is a great training run for the Missoula, Marathon in July. Regardless of weather the race is on! Plan ahead and stay at the Lodges, located minutes away from the starting line.

Registration starts at 08:00 a.m. at the trail head. The 50 km starts at 10:00 a.m.; the 20 km starts at 10:15 and the 10 km starts at 10:30. For entrants that need more than 4 hours to complete the 50km race a 09:00 a.m. early bird start is available. Registration cost is $45 for the 50 km; $30 for the 20 km; and $25 for the 10 km. Have a relaxing pre and/or post night stay at the Lodges only minutes away from the trail head.
